Department of Dharma Shastra

Dharma Shastra came into existence to deliberate on social and personal duties including religious conduct, ‘Bhakti’, sense of moral duty etc.

This Shastra undertake the studies of Manu, Yagyavalkya, Parashara, Gautama, Ovareda, Baudhayan, Kautilyas etc. It also include topics of current relevance as woman rights, Hindu law, Sanskaras, moral education, Human Right, raja – dharma & punishments that develops the humanitarian and personal dimensions of a person.

The Department conducts the following courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and research level to preserve and promote this traditional scientific knowledge.
